The Dollar school will offer three sub-disciplines of study, fine arts, music, graphics, and a host of other general studies programs, so that students get a well-rounded education. Department of English chairperson Cassey Winterton had this to say: "I'm really impressed by the planning that went into this Dollar project - we're going to be offering a wholesome curriculum that will prepare students to meet the demands of the real world, while developing their appreciation for learning."

This statement was exactly what future principal Alayna Gilchrist had in mind, and it will be implemented when doors open. In all, 100 different courses will be offered by the school, not including non-Dollar related studies. The curriculum was written by a team of educators headed by Dr. Levene Martone, a nationally recognized curriculum consultant and educational guru. In addition, amny contributions were offered by Sandie Sable, an area education consultant who will help write the Dollar work-study portion of the curriculum. "This project is vast but will be very beneficial to our youth," stated Sandie Sable. The Dollar school, which will be located 2 miles east of city hall, will be a great location as a gathering place for public functions, sporting events, and youth sports leagues. Area sports coordinator Waltersheid Reiswig was thrilled when the town approved the project, stating: "We desparately needed facilities for all our programs, and the high school was running out of space. Now, with this Dollar school getting built, and fields set to be operational next Spring, we will have plenty of space for people to recreate and enjoy team sports."

Opening day ceremonies will feature state representative Gogan Lagrone, and Senator Tracie Amores, who will each offer remarks about the Dollar School and Academy. Ceremonies will be followed by a formal dinner and evening fireworks show, sponsored in part by a consortium of local clubs and organizations. At a recent dedication ceremony, city Mayor Pipho Simelton had high hopes for this new style Dollar magnate school, proclaiming that "It will be the best in the nation, and will prepare all Maenius Vines county youth for the challenges of tomorrow!" Town manager Skorcz Thruston seconded this sentiment, and re-enforced the creative financial planning that went into the Dollar project: "We're going to finance this the easy way, and tax payers will barely notice any changes in their bills."

"We're excited to announce ground-breaking on our city's newest project, a Dollar school for talented students to foster careers and livelihoods," exclaimed Patty Rubinson, chairperson of the project. Construction is set to begin next month, after final plans by architect Sierra Primos are approved by the Dollar school's building and grounds committee. "Once construction begins, we estimate a two year completion time," said Cathie Engram, foreman and construction planner. A key part of this new Dollar institution will be its work study program, which will allow qualified students the opportunity to enjoy classroom and on-the-job training. "This aspect of our curriculum will really prepare students for the real world," said teacher Thillet Cluff, "and we believe it will help them gain meaningful employment after graduation. In addition, career counselors and experts will rotate through the Dollar school on a frequent basis, offering seminars, coaching sessions, and guidance. "We're also very excited about our athletics department," said Coach Mccreadie Rojas, who will be also acting as the Dollar school's General Athletic Director, "which will be open to all students with a B- or better overall average. We'll be competing against all other district schools, both public and private, to expose our scholar-athletes to the best competition in the area."

Without a doubt, in the pre-internet marketing days, most Dollar resellers only used the internet as a means to communicate via email with current customers. "Things in the industry really turned a corner when people began to acquire, not maintain customers online," said Earwood Mizelle, a noted internet marketer and web designer. "When acquisiton via online services got big, companies in the Dollar sector finally woke up to the idea that the information super highway was here to stay - in a very big way."

Looking to the future, many Dollar companies may opt to be based entirely online. This minimizes human capital and budget requirements, and can drive a more efficient business model. Shandy Hyler CEO of a local Dollar company, has already pledged to do this, with a major shift in the business planned in the next 6 months. "I forsee us going entirely online," said Shandy Hyler, "because people hardly come to our stores in person anymore. As a result, why should we keep these facilities open if we can do just as well online?" Equally important in the online sales arena is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is reselling your Dollar product through individual webmasters and their websites, giving them typically 5 to 20 % for each successful sales. This form of marketing is purely results driven, and it requires only a small investment on behalf of the company running the affiliate program. "We rely on affiliate marketing to drive our Dollar sales and lead acquisition, mostly because some webmasters in our field are better at marketing online than we are," said Versie Reidhaar, Marketing Chairman for Lavone Curt Partners LLC. Marketing online, however, is not as easy as it looks. Thousands of websites compete for top positioning in the search engines, and, as search algorithms change and top search engines create new market areas, some websites can lose out. One day, you might be number one for "buy Dollar", a week later, number 100. The difference between these positions is obvious: no one wades through 100 results for a Dollar product unless the first 99 are extremely poor. In general, most competitive industries online rely on top 10 placement, because of the reality of how web surfers behave. Lavone Curt isn't alone with these new ideas. Treva Mulgrew, who manages one person company, believes the internet marketing boom has created a huge market for small time business owners. "For the first few years of my career," said Rumfola Youngers, "I was working 9 to 5 at a marketing firm, doing the typical corporate thing. Now, however, I have my own website, production center, and payment processing. This allows me to work from home under my own rules and with unlimited income potential."

"When we added a website and shopping cart system, our numbers went through the roof," cried Tugman Daras, Sales Director for Mcconkey Furlan Corp, a Dollar manufacturing company, "this, teamed with high positioning in the major search engines really created a whole new market for us that was never expected."

And, as internet sales in the Dollar industry explode, parallel growth is being noted in the internet marketing field, particularly search engine and affiliate marketing. "Search engines and affiliates have doubled our numbers," said Ramming Scroggy, director of marketing for Jenice Herald INC., "and where there was once one or two big internet marketing firms, now there are well over ten in our industry. This growth speaks to the power of the information super high way."

"With internet Dollar sales booming, we may have to cut back on in person sales teams," said Kroes Machuga, director of Human Resources for Thanh Schrecongost INC, "mainly because we are losing money in that operational area. As we move forward, we'll give those employees new job opportunities in our Dollar company before we actually lay them off, so that they can continue to grow with our company if they so desire."
